Las Vegas water Crisis

Hey y’all long time fan here have you heard of the rapidly increasing water crisis in Las Vegas. There has been some great ground reporting of what’s happening for example at Lake Mead. Huge impacts on housing in a booming city and an area getting new professionals sports team (Lebron has said he wants to own a team there) and I just think it would be a great story to cover.

Ukraine

Krystal How come you’re willing to refer to Putin as a “bad actor” but you never refer to the U.S. as a bad actor?

A different strategy for Roe

Since the Roe decision was based on the court's opinion that past interpretations of the 5th and 14th amendments were invalid I'd thought about a different strategy to have the courts do the opposite of legalizing abortion: Disallowing the banning of it. Here's the angle: A state like Texas or Mississippi outright bans abortion. It's clear that other religious groups besides Christians view it differently, namely Jews and Muslims. People of those religious groups have spoken up to say that this recent ruling violates their religious convictions. Additionally, regardless of how one feels about the issue, it's impossible to argue from a scientific standpoint that early stages of pregnancy allow the fetus to feel pain or consciousness as it doesn't have those capabilities yet. Couldn't one argue that an outright ban on abortion (up to 15 weeks/1st trimester/whatever) is purely based on religious ideals and would therefore violate the 1st Amendment? What else is the basis for it other than religion (again speaking about early pregnancy)? Based on that it would be illegal to force this position on others. I'd think someone could make/win that argument and was curious what you two thought despite not being lawyers (neither am I). Thanks!

Republican Abortion strategy similar to Democrat Gun Control strategy

As a Republican, I am for “common sense” gun control laws. I’m ok with making getting a gun such as an AR a cumbersome, slightly lengthy process to own…. As long as you can own them. What makes me nervous though is the agenda AFTER that. We’re seeing, IMO, something very similar now with Republicans with abortions. Over turning Roe vs. Wade was a huge step, but IMMEDIATELY after that, they’re already discussing steps to a nation wide all out ban!?! Row vs, Wade was the first step towards there ultimate agenda of a full ban. My fear is that “common sense” gun control laws could just be the first step towards the ultimate agenda which could be much more. That fear alone keeps me from fully commiting to any gun control at all. Are these basically the same two things on different sides of the isle or am I wrong?

Chevron

With the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade. What do you think the likelihood of the it overturning the Chevron doctrine? Meaning will administrative law rulings be severely curtailed? Thanks Phil Gardner
