Student loan pause

Any update on the student loan situation? Will they extend the pause again or will it expire at the end of this month?

The Inflation Reduction Act, er, I mean the Health and Climate Bill

Good day, Saagar and Krystal, I've been premium since day one. Can someone please help me with this one. I'm not sure how raising taxes on Natural Gas, Oil and Coal will help the people. They'll just make us pay more. And why add 87,000 more IRS agents? There's only some many millionaires to go after before they come for the middle and lower class. It's basically a new version of $600 Tax Rule.

Bill creation and text

Does congress make these bill incredibly complicated so normal Americans are unable to read them? I have tried reading many bills, including the latest Inflation bill which is 2140 pages and seems like every other word is making references to 100 of other bills. It reminds of the Parks and Recreation scene where Ben says "A person should not have to have an advanced law degree to avoid being taken advantage of by a multibillion dollar company". Thanks!!!

Curruption in Goverment and Evidence

A few episodes ago IIRC one of you stated that corruption in the US government was at historic lows. I was wondering what evidence you can point to that verifies this assertion? Is there data that backs this up or are you basing this based historical trends? Thank you ❤️ & keep up the amazing work. Show keeps getting better.

nuclear energy and your favorite time of the week to answer questions

Saagar and Krystal I’ve written 7 times (2/26/22, 3/4/22, 3/13/22, 3/17/22, 5/22/22, 6/20/22, 6/30/22) about your stance on and support for nuclear energy. I am a subscriber and have been listening to your show since before Breaking Points. I enjoy the little introduction you have before every show such as Saagar’s saying we have a great show for you and Krystal’s “indeed we do.” Same goes for the AMA when Krystal says “this is our favorite time of the week when we get to answer some of your questions.” It’s fun and puts a smile on my face. I don’t ever expect my questions to be answered but was wondering if you could at least have an alternate voice on your show that can educate your listeners to the externalities and potential concerns of long term nuclear energy use? When Saagar comments that a number of people have been pussyfooting around nuclear for a variety of “idiotic” reasons, and says this with a straight face right before rolling his eyes that “yes Chernobyl happened” and moving somewhat quickly over Three Mile Island (which I’ve written about before), I am again moved to write you. Krystal, you made the comment that generally the way to persuade people is to not bully them or hit them over the head, but to hear their concerns and then question them about those concerns. I have tried the “sugar” approach with you in all but one of my AMA questions/comments in the past. But how can you have a civil dialog if only one side is listening and the other side believes they have all the facts. If it truly is your favorite time of the week when you get to answer some of our questions, why not go out on a limb and entertain some of those questions that make you uncomfortable, require research into the unknown, and possibly allow you to broaden views shaped by those in your inner circle? I’m registered Green and you may be right that given the circumstances in Europe, some Greens have shifted their position on nuclear energy. Those are not positions shared in many European countries (Germany and Finland being exceptions) and definitely not in the US. But do you think these positions would even be in play if they weren’t being squeezed by Russian oil shortages? I hope you would answer that question “hell no!” They are playing politics while this is an immediate issue but we can be sure the Greens will only double down those country’s efforts to get away from fossil fuels and eventually nuclear once this passes in 5-10 years. Saagar believes that there is no way to get to 100% energy independence without nuclear. I again think you are misinformed. I’ve suggested a number of potential guests you could interview that would give a balance of opinions. What I’m afraid is happening on Breaking Points reminds me of mainstream media’s approach to the Iraq war. Only the general’s voices beating the drums of war were heard. I believe there was a study done at that time and there were approximately 3 interviews of people promoting peace and ending war by mainstream media. I’ll say it again, please bring onto your show credible and well informed guests who can speak to why nuclear energy is not a good idea. Then I promise I will no longer write you concerning this difference of opinion. I am still wondering if you would consider sending out a nuclear energy survey similar to see where your subscribers stand on the issue? Thank you James
