Puerto Rico Electricity Grid Crisis

Hey Krystal and Saagar. Have you considered taking a look at the current issues surrounding Puerto Rico's energy grid? I think it would be up more Krystal's alley, given how the government privatized the electric grid via LUMA Energy in 2020. That said, I would love Saagar's perspective on it as well.

Rail strike long term consequences

Thanks for your excellent coverage of the railroad worker's efforts. In one of the segments from your contributors, a railroad worker said that if they don't get a satisfactory contract, they won't go on strike- they'll quit altogether. One way to understand the current problems is mostly due to understaffing, starting with layoffs when the COVID pandemic started and exacerbated when rail companies failed to rehire their workers afterward despite government bailouts designed for this. On top of this, they are already shedding workers left and right from turnover and their draconian policies. The loss of institutional knowledge that could result from a poor outcome for rail workers would have severe implications far beyond disruptions to the shipping industry during a supply chain crisis. How can we help people and politicians understand just how enormous the stakes are here?

Trump gets indicted, then what?

Hi Krystal & Saagar. Let's assume Trump gets indicted in some way that prevents him from running for office. What do you think happens after that? Who would end up being the Republican nominee? Who do you think would win the election? Would Trump's supporters go in for someone else? What happens if they don't? Curious on your thoughts since this could be a reality for us next year. Thanks!

Israel Palestinian conflict

Love the show, but the coverage of the above subject feels a little one sided. Last week an Israeli PM spoke at the UN and declared his support for a 2 state solution. He also explained the Israeli pov and approach to the Middle East. How come this was not covered by your show?

Fentanyl

Hey K&S - long time fan since the hill. A childhood friend of mine passed away this weekend from fentanyl spiked heroin. I’m 26 years old, and he is the 3rd friend I’ve seen die from it. I believe the current estimate is 180 people die every day from a fentanyl overdose. Is there anything at all being done to avert this crisis? I feel like we’re dealing with Oxy all over again, and it will take a decade to have any sort of government response while millions die. Side comment for Saagar - my friends wanted heroin, not fentanyl. If there was a legal way to purchase it they would have done it. I wonder how many more will die because we can’t accept the taboo of legalized drugs.
