US House Rep Speech (Ron Paul 2011) Afghan resolution on troop withdraw.

Can you guys comment on Ron Paul's speech in the house in the 2011 on Afghanistan? Describes very well what is happening and what will happen. This is speech in reference to passing the resolution to bring home troops by 12/31/2011.

Did the Pope tweet a nod to civil disobedience?

The church has a lot of baggage, but I feel like Pope Francis is aware that for-profit forces are steamrolling over peoples spiritual values. Twitter: "It is good for us to ask ourselves if we still live in the period in which we need the Law (cfr Gal 3:23-25), or if instead we are fully aware of having received the grace of becoming children of God so as to live in love."

Joe Rogan and Alpha Brain

We can all agree that people in positions of power within the US tend to use these influential positions to grift off the population and increase their personal wealth. The My Pillow guy, Mike Lindell recently got excoriated for pushing oleander extract as a cure for cancer. Do you think it’s okay for Joe Rogan to claim the product “Alpha Brain” has positive effects on people’s lives, while studies done on the product show that it has no effect? Granted, covid has much more serious effects on some, but at what point should we clamp down on companies and influencers pushing ineffective health products to consumers?

California Recall Election & Teachers Unions

Hi K & S - I am a California resident living in Los Angeles (Born and Raised) and we face a recall election of Governor Newsom in the next month. I'm struggling with this election because I certainly am a Liberal although I do find I am significantly more in the center than most of my peers, especially when it comes to economics/taxes/real estate laws. Newsom certainly shares many of my values from a social standpoint and I voted for him in the previous election in 2017, however I think he has shown in his time in office that he is slimy and arrogant and a classic elitist liberal politician who doesn't play by the rules that he creates, and as someone who has lived in California my whole life, I have seen how much homelessness and crime have gone up, taxes are through the roof, the cost of living in LA and SF is damn near impossible for so many folks these days. As a result I am seriously taking into consideration our other choices, more specifically Larry Elder. I think he's a well spoken man and very intelligent. He's a lifetime California resident from South Central and could be the type of person California needs to turn it around. A man of color who is not polarized by 'woke' politics and actually will lookout for the underserved communities from which he came. While I don't agree with a number of his views, most importantly regarding climate change policy (wildfires are the scariest and most severe threat to the future of California IMO) and the minimum wage, I do think he brings a lot of good things to the table to address the quality of life issues we face on a regular basis in this state. One of his running platforms is regarding teachers unions and parental choice and I don't have a strong grasp on these and whether or not its a good thing or bad thing. Parental choice seems like a fantastic idea as it is a shame that so many children are forced to attend certain underfunded public schools just because of geographic location however I don't really know much about either issue. It sounds like (according the Elder) it allows for bad teachers to stick around and never be fired among other things, but I was curious if you both have a take on these unions and whether or not you believe they do more positive than negative for children and their education? I know that you are typically a fan of allowing worker to unionize in the labor force (i.e. Amazon workers), but I'm wondering how your views may be the same or different based on teachers? Appreciate your insight!
