The School to Prison Pipeline

Will you cover the school-to-prison pipeline and other neglected but easy-to-understand breaking points? Most Title 1 public school employees (Title 1 schools serve our lowest economic status families) have information that they do not feel comfortable sharing publicly because it would jeopardize their work life and ability to pay their mortgage. I have been wondering who I can trust to contact with information for investigative journalists regarding a slew of regular and routine incidents and issues that most people would agree are just plain indecent, corrupt, incompetent, and stupid. Most of the big societal problems live right out in the open. Many employees would feel safer sharing critical information if they knew where to turn. I'm one of the educational professionals that has information regarding the basic nuts and bolts of the school-to-prison pipeline that just about anyone can easily understand, yet is not reaching the public's collective awareness. Covering the basics of this issue is real, neglected, news that could have the greatest impact on the day-to-day lives of everyone in the country. This is one of those issues that cuts through all arguments but the most blatant and transparently hypocritical. People would not stand for what goes on all across the country every single day if they knew - as too many of us educators in poor communities know. p.s. I'm pulling for you guys to point out hypocrisy no matter where it's coming from. You've done a smart thing, committing to giving voice to real and reasonable advocacy, no matter where it comes from. People are capable of amazing things, both good and bad. But, they are often unaware of their own, personal and collective baked-in assumptions. Please, expose the big, everyday, and easy-to-uncover news that has been neglected, forever. If you do that, more and more people will continue to trust you as the most valuable news anchors, who actually care about making a difference for most people. Just because we are a wealthy country does not mean we should not cover the most basic quality of life issues that have the greatest impact on most people, as well as mend fences, and improve collectively in all ways that make sense. Commercial news has never done that. Good luck, pioneers. At least, it's an easy job if you have the guts ;)
