Is there any chance that the Supreme Court's abortion ruling will eventually spark enough backlash to force the federal government to make it a protected right, similar to ending Prohibition in 1933? Or does the lack of strong economic incentives and widespread social pain mean that Pro Choice rhetoric will merely be exploited for political talking points and other grift? (I also had momentarily wondered if the proposed Pregnancy Surveillance laws would incentivize greater online protection legislation, but that must have been the result of a contact high.)
Many times you'll cover a story and at the end say, "disgusting, this is outrageous, I don't see a way forward," etc. Does it ever get you two down to be covering sad stories, and do you ever feel like you would rather be "doing" something about it? Love your show, been watching since 2019!
I live in a large city and probably fall more on Saagars side of the gun debate. But I do find merit in some reforms. There is a confusion contradiction in criminal justice reformists pushing maximalist gun policy. Can you be for banning certain firearms but also against gun enhancements in crimes or even treating illegal gun possession as a serious crime?
