PACT Act

What happened with the PACT act that caused it to get kicked back to the Senate for another vote? What concerns, if any, are there with allocating the money in the PACT Act as discretional versus mandatory spending? All I can find on this issue is a lot of rhetoric and yelling, but no facts and legitimate analysis. I would love to get a break down from you guys.

Krystal- Are all Unions Equal?

Krystal- Do you think that all work should be unionized? Or is there a time and a place for unions to be apart of the work force? eg. The swag you guys sell, why care if its from a union shop? I just want to see that its made in the USA with domestic sourced materials.

How do we win over Environmentalists to Nuclear?

I operate in the spheres of influence around many environmentalist orgs and one of the biggest problems I see is the way they see nuclear energy as a bad dirty energy. Based on my understanding, all the nuclear waste ever produced in the world doesn’t take up that much space, also with good investment into storage facilities for nuclear waste the problem seems to vanish, like in the Finnish Onkalo storage facility. How do we convince this powerful voting block to embrace one of our most powerful renewable sources?

Immigration (Legal v Illegal)

Thoughts on if/when we will ever see a rethinking of the current immigration standards? Especially, the skilled labor sector in STEM which has a lot of "aliens", which includes me too (legal term used to describe immigrants). Currently, the wait for Indian nationals to receive a Green Card ranges about 10-12 years due to yearly per country cap, AFTER the petition is ALREADY APPROVED! This is after going through the student visa and H1B work visa process. It's a hot topic every election cycle with a lot of promises for sweeping reforms to support Legal immigration process (including Obama, Trump, Biden) but quickly dies down blaming Congress or lack of public support, etc. But in my 12 year experience in this country, the faster route to securing a green card is jumping the border and securing a SSN or the refugee route. The rest of us who have gone through rigorous background checks, and jump through all the legal hoops are left wondering in endless wait. PS. Right now in 2022, Green Cards being issued to Indians are to applications from 2012! In the meantime, these applicants are mostly tied to their employers without scope for movement or career advancement leading to a lot of frustration. Love the show! Keep up the great work.
