I've heard both of you lament about working middle class Americans lacking a political lobby. What avenues do we have to start one? I'm a voting member of a union (SEIU 503 in Oregon!) and I actively participate in national, state, and local voting, but I feel helpless against the organized cooperate lobbies. What's the most effective way to contact my representatives to get them to consider my views? (Love the show, keep up the good work!) -Nick in the State of Jefferson
Link: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/political-commentary/democrats-fdr-new-deal-financial-crisis-1248615/ It encapsulates my feeling that government is egregiously dysfunctional. I don't see that Democracy is worth defending when the people sent to Washington aren't accountable to improving their lives for their constituents, even a little bit. (Drug pricing reform is a no-brainer.) Its all culture wars and outrage, exacerbated by social media. An angry populace isn't one that will sit idle either. Right wing demagogues are waiting to seize the outrage.
I saw a headline so forgive my ignorance but it was something about china trying to "seed" the weather to create rainfall ect. I read that and immediately thought of yeah that cant end up bad right?!?! It might have been clickbait just thought id bring it up. Love you guys keep it up!
