I'm confused about your views on the voting rights issue

Hey guys, I've watched every episode and really appreciate what the two of you do. Regarding voting rights-- I've heard each of you make just a brief comment here and there indicating your view that the voting rights issue more or less lacks importance. But I haven't heard a full explanation and I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding why exactly you feel this way. So, I'm really hoping the two of you could spend some time and go more in-depth to explain your thinking to us on this. Why is this issue a waste of time-- what am I missing? Thank you! Jordan

Views on the Synagogue Hostage event and Dr Aafia Siddiqui

What are your views on Dr Aafia Siddiqui (the prisoner that the synagogue hostage taker was trying to free from prison) and the very shady backstory of her supposed crimes. She was accused of shooting at US Army and FBI investigators while she was in US custody at a police station in Afghanistan using an M4 that one of them placed at his feet. There was no video of this and her fingerprints weren't found on the gun. She was placed on the terror watch list but in her trial the US government didn't even try to charge her with terrorism. There are many other shady things with this whole case and just wanted to get both of your thoughts on this.

Middle East (and foreign policy) as a footnote

Hey Krystal and Saagar, just wanted to say first big fan of all you guys do! I often find myself banging my head against the wall when discussing foreign policy and specifically heinous government "sanctioned" war crimes committed by the administration whenever discussing politics. I have a few friends who are supportive in policies and viewpoints the left shares, though they believe the establishment and older dems have a more efficient way of executing them, and tend to stand left on many topics like voting rights, healthcare, etc. I do find however, when discussing the Middle East specifically, it's often a footnote or quick gloss over point. Examples being the recent civilian drone strike in Afghanistan being chalked up to "I don't think Biden had much oversight into that" all the way to "the AUMF covers Libya, so congress gave implicit approval" when discussing Obama's track record. Recently we had a more heated argument over the Dick Cheney Nancy Pelosi C-span cringe fest. My friend seemed to hold the belief that while Nancy Pelosi shouldn't have basically prostrated to him in front of congress, there is a middle ground between showing him high reverence on the senate floor and never engaging with him for the rest of his existence. It got heated when I started to retort that regardless of the event, his war crimes and history in the Middle East would actually justify never engaging him on anything ever, unless it was as you guys said, to slap him with a pair of handcuffs. Sorry for the long store preface but that leads me to ask: Do you guys believe the media and the people have created a culture where war crimes and messy foreign policy only counts for a fraction of domestic policy and as a footnote to a, usually Democratic, presidents legacy and effectiveness? If so, what do you think should be done to combat this or to call for higher accountability for the administration and their trigger happy attitudes to the Middle East. As far as I can see George Bush is really the only president whose foreign record is front and centre, and only because it was so abhorrent and blatant. Whereas with Barrack Obama, we just seem to quickly acknowledge Libya passively and then move on to more domestic policy. Hopefully this essay of a question isn't too annoying to sift through, keep on with the great work!

Legal theory on OSHA mandate

I interpreted justice Gorsuch legal opinion on the OSHA mandate as meaning the Covid virus was not inherently *required* part of the workplace. In other words electric saws are fundamental to a meatpacking facility. And they are dangerous and people get injured the fact that there is a virus out there as there are many at all times, is it fundamental to the business. I interpreted your answer as stating that it was. Am I mistaken?

Thank You

Thank you for answering my long confusing question about "stipulations". I understand better now exactly how/why you need to be precise and clear. I am a Grade 8 US History Teacher in Houston, Texas and also teach a Current Events class. I love the show and I use so many of your clips to examine current events (pre-screened for an occasional obscenity or two of course). My students look forward to seeing you guys and your show has sparked great conversations. Thank you again for giving the news in an honest way. Brian
