I just wanted to say I was at the live show in Atlanta and had an absolute blast! My only regret was not doing the meet and greet after the show. My question is for Saagar, what is your ideal Healthcare system for the U.S. I have been a Type 1 Diabetic (Juvenile Diabetes) since I was 10 years old (I am now 30). I have a good job with insurance and I still pay a stupid amount for insulin pump supplies. My insurance is also starting to limit the amount of insulin they will cover per month. So I am with Krystal on Medicare for All. I would love for Saager to critique Medicare for All and give his preferred system. Until Saager mentioned it, I had no idea Europe used Triage care. Thanks, Y'all are the best!!!
What does sectoral bargaining mean for small business?
I do think the sectoral bargaining that will take place will be beneficial for the workers, and for the most part I am on board. However, I believe Krystal mentioned in an episode that it would only affect businesses with more than 100 locations, basically the mega chains. I can’t help but think this will crush small businesses. It’s a nice thought to think that excluding the mom and pop pizza shop won’t have to pay a minimum wage of $20 an hour because they aren’t a billion dollar corporation, but how are they going to get any employees if all they can afford is $15 an hour? I fear this will eventually lead to a squeeze out of family owned businesses and further strengthen the chains down the road.
China selling arms to Russia through North Korea
Hi guys! I know Saagar said that Xi was cold to Putin at the Samarkand summit, but North Korea just sold a crap ton of weapons to Russia, *AND* changed their nuclear posture to a pre-emptive strike stance without backlash from China. Unless NK could guarantee the replacement of those weapons/ammo ASAP, I really doubt they would offload that amount to Russia, because NK has to be war ready at all times. Do you think China used NK as an intermediary to sell Russia weapons by guaranteeing security and/or a new weapons sale to NK? Thanks and I *LOVE* the show! Student Debt
The power of capitalism is that price is set by the market. With the government guaranteeing student loans there is no market pressure to cap the price of education. Do you think the best way to get price back under control would be to allow student debt to be dispatched as part of the Bankruptcy process? That would introduce risk back into the lending equation bring price / ROI back into the equation.
