Ask a question

Biden "Ruining" or "Restoring" the Presidency?

From one of today's premium offerings, Krystal and friends asked whether Biden is damaging the presidency. To what extent are difficulties in the attempt to base a major change in the role of government on a Senate tiebreak and a closely divided House an indication that the separation of powers is working? Is there an irony in progressives' embrace of The Imperial Presidency?

MENTAL STATUS

CAN THE PRESIDENT BE MADE TO TAKE A MENTAL STATUS TEST FOR MEMORY IMPAIRMENT?

Major Differences of Opinion

Are there any major political or social points of view that you guys greatly diverge on? I only recall on the Joe Rogan podcast you guys majorly differing on the handling of the riots/protests that happened in the summer of 2020. From most of your discourse, I like the fact that you guys mostly have common ground with slight nuances from your differing political paradigms. I feel like this actually represents most people's private conversation ie, the ones MSNBC/Fox never shows. However were there any major issues you guys have 180 opinions/views on? Greatly appreciate what you do, barring me going into utter poverty will probably be a lifetime premium member of this show.

Rental Assistance Program

To provide a little context for my experience: I am active duty military and, until recently, was stationed in Colorado Springs where I bought a duplex. I had a great relationship with a tenant, who was a single mom with 2 teenage kids. She lost her job and went through a real rough patch so I decided to forgive her rent for several months while she cared for her dying father in addition to her kids. When I heard about the rental assistance program I was really excited to get paid back, but it literally took over 4 months for the application to get approved because of red tape. And even though it finally did get approved, I’ve now been waiting for almost 3 months for the check, because the Colorado payment process has apparently been outsourced to a contractor called Bill.com, and there’s no ETA on when they’re going to process all the payments. To my eyes, this just looks like the perfect encapsulation of the ineptitude of our current government and bureaucracy. What do you guys think a functional rental assistance program would have looked like if designed properly by the federal government? Thanks for looking over my ridiculously long question, love the show! And to add a little note of positivity, my tenant has a good job and is doing much better now… and still in the house, hopefully for the long term!
