'Outside the Beltway Stories'

Hey Krystal and Saagar, Love the show and have really enjoyed the addition of counterpoints, I think Emily and Ryan have a great dynamic and I enjoy their perspectives. Something I have particularly enjoyed is Ryan providing some historical context to the larger issues like US military involvement in central America or how immigration policy has affected the ability of seasonal migrants in agriculture to do what they have been doing forever - travel back and forth between the US and Mexico to work and live. In that vein, do you have any plans to incorporate some longer pieces from reporters who have a strong background and focus on single issues that can place the current news cycle (ex: immigration issues) within a broader historical context? I think you have an amazing opportunity to platform folks who can talk about these issues with authority and provide perspectives that are not typically heard 'inside the beltway', where you both admittedly live (at least politically). A great example would be having someone from the Teamsters come talk about Amazon organizing efforts to explain why winning a union election is great - but given the difficulty of negotiating a first contract is really the first and perhaps smallest hurdle to cross when building a union. The relationship between the ALU and the Teamsters is not frequently discussed. I love your coverage of the surge in labor organizing, but much of the news has focused on these elections which at the end of the day will mean nil if first contracts aren't won. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to seeing how you two grow Breaking Points moving forward! Ryan

New show idea: Historical Points?

Saagar and Ryan have their own vibe that they've established that, tbh, I think could be its own show. I commented on the Tuesday full show that I love the way Saagar and Ryan seem to constantly be on the verge of a full on history discussion and I love that. Please accept this request to start a new show, I'm thinking it'd go down really well.

too much election coverage?

Seems like every show has at least one or two blocks about election coverage that isn't that significant. Could probably compress it into 1 segment a week. I just fast forward through a lot of it at this point, as I already know what you think about most of this stuff.

Williamson

When you interview Marianne I hope your integrity allows for you to ask her about staffers recently leaving her campaign months after joining. Specifically Peter Daou who was her personal friend and became her campaign manager. Rumors are swirling that she is abusive both verbally and physically to her staff, pays them relatively little, and has thrown tantrums over trivial things like her hotel room not having a soaking tub. Rumor also is that she widely uses NDA’s to prevent staff from discussing her behavior after they leave. Would she be willing to announce on the show and in writing that former staffers are released from these contracts and NDA’s to discuss their sudden departure and any personality or policy disagreements they might have had with her and want to discuss. I mean if RFK Jr. had a “Red Line” for Krystal because of his vaccine skepticism (which Williamson shares), then surely if this is all true about her abusive personality, it would be even more of a disqualifying “RedLine” if we are being consistent… Right Krystal?
